Clark Forklift Parts

Clark has been building material handling trucks since 1917, and its trucks tend to stay in service long after the paperwork is lost. We supply parts for C500s, the GCX/GPX and CGC/CGP families and Clark electrics, matched to the serial number, quoted straight and shipped from Lake Elsinore.

Have this ready

  • Model from the data plate: C500-45, CGC25, GPX25 and so on.
  • Serial number because Clark built some models for decades, with changes along the way.
  • Tire size off the sidewall, if you need tires.

Before you order

Know your Clark

Cushion or pneumatic: read the letters

In Clark's IC families the letters tell you the tire. CGC trucks run cushion tires for smooth warehouse floors and CGP trucks run pneumatic tires for yards. The earlier GCX (cushion) and GPX (pneumatic) work the same way. The number is capacity, so a CGC25 is a 5,000 lb truck. The cushion and pneumatic versions of the same size differ in axles, wheels and tires at a minimum, so the letter matters when you order.

Why the serial number matters on a Clark

The C500 line ran for decades, and long-running models pick up changes along the way: a new supplier for a pump, a revised brake, a different engine option. The model name gets us close. The serial number gets the right part in the box the first time.

Clark is still in business

Clark Material Handling Company is headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, and has been owned by South Korea's Young An group since 2003. Clark dates its first gasoline-powered material handling truck to 1917 and counts more than 350,000 of its trucks still working worldwide. New trucks and warranty work go through Clark dealers. For the trucks already in your yard, the aftermarket covers the common wear parts.

How to read a Clark model
CGC Gas or LP truck on cushion tires e.g. CGC25
CGP Gas or LP truck on pneumatic tires e.g. CGP25
GCX Earlier cushion-tire family e.g. GCX25
GPX Earlier pneumatic-tire family e.g. GPX25
ECX Electric truck on cushion tires e.g. ECX25
C500 The long-running classic line e.g. C500-45

On the CGC, CGP, GCX, GPX and ECX families the number is capacity in hundreds of kilograms: 25 is the 5,000 lb class.

Common Clark problems and where we would look first

Common Clark forklift symptoms and likely causes
Symptom Where we would look first
Old truck, part number worn off Photos of the part, the data plate and any casting numbers usually get us there. Older Clarks are well documented in the aftermarket.
Mast drifts or chatters Lift cylinder seals or the holding valve if it drifts. Worn rollers or dry chain if it chatters.
Cranks but will not start on LP Regulator, lock-off or fuel filter before the engine itself.
Brakes fading or pulling Wheel cylinders and shoes, then the master cylinder.
Electric truck feels weak Battery condition and connectors, contactor tips and motor brushes before the controller.

General guidance only. Always follow the manufacturer's service manual and lock out equipment before working on it.

Straight answers

Clark forklift parts: your questions answered

Do you carry parts for old Clark forklifts like the C500?
Yes. Clark trucks stay in service a long time and the aftermarket has kept up: seals, brakes, chain, filters, ignition and electrical parts for C500s and older GCX and GPX trucks are all available. Have the serial number ready, since long-running models changed along the way.
What is the difference between CGC and CGP, or GCX and GPX?
The tires. C is for cushion tires on smooth indoor floors; P is for pneumatic tires in yards, on gravel and on rough pavement. The two versions differ in axles, wheels and tires, so the letter matters when you order.
Where is the serial number on a Clark forklift?
On the data plate, which lists the model and serial number. If the plate is missing or painted over, send photos of the truck and any stamped numbers and we will help identify it.
Is Clark still making forklifts?
Yes. Clark Material Handling Company is based in Lexington, Kentucky, and has been owned by South Korea's Young An group since 2003. New trucks and warranty work go through Clark dealers. Parts for the trucks you already own, we can help with.
How fast can I get Clark parts?
Most in-stock parts ship the same day from Lake Elsinore to customers across Riverside and San Bernardino counties, and nationwide. We give you a real delivery date on the phone.
